Laurie and I started out Saturday morning at a place called the City Diner, located by the Tower Grove Park. (These food postings are a little out of chronological order, I apologize.)
They feature an item called the Slinger. You can't tell from the picture just how mind blowing this breafast is, so here is the blue print: The bottom of a bowl is filled with hashbrowns on to which is piled sausage patties. Then come two fried eggs, sunny side up. On top of all that is poured hot chilli and then melted cheese. So, if you get your fork to cooperate, you can have five or six strangely rich flavors going on in your mouth all at once.
And surprisingly, it is delicious.
