The name seems vaguely familiar but William Gass might not be the name that I'm vaguely familiar with.
I could check Wikipedia, but since I know that I've never read either William Gass or the (possibly other person I'm confusing with William Gass), I'm not going to.
No, I've never read William Gass and I'm from outside St. Louis.
Perhaps, a better question would be, "Has anybody inside St. Louis ever read William Gass?"
Or, "Has anybody anywhere ever read William Gass?"
Or even, "Who is William Gass?"
I'm done thinking about this: I'm going out for some beer.
