Trip to Soulard
On Saturday, July 14--Bastille Day-- Laurie and I headed to Soulard, the old original French neighborhood south of downtown. Mardi Gras is really their big holiday, but they apparently have a pretty big Bastille Day celebration. Except we missed it. Still, we had a good time walking the streets, checking out the farmer's market, listening to music, and talking with some very hospitablie St. Louisans.

Can you tell that we are nearing the Budweiser brewery? People asked us if "A-B products" were popular at home. Isn't that like asking, Do people drink Coca-Cola?

This place was terrible actually.

Thoroughly enjoying the travelogue. What would a trip be with out a goal (the t.s. e. investigation at the library) and a snack - the restaurant reviews, to say nothing of making new friends at St. Ambrose. Fun to read - and of course the purpose of the program - japanese jazz!! Sounds like a story all by itself.
